How does it work?
Very quick and relatively painless
A tiny needle is used to inject the product (Botulinum Toxin), into the facial muscles to be treated. This then blocks the nerve signals from your brain to the muscles, inhibiting their ability to contract. The brain is still sending the nerve signal, but the muscle doesn’t receive it, therefore the muscle no longer contracts giving the skin a smooth, line free appearance. The procedure is very quick and most clients find it relatively painless.
Any side effects
Most side effects are temporary
Most side effects that may occur are temporary and linked to the injections themselves; such as a little tenderness, bruising, redness, and swelling. In exceptionally rare cases, a slight drooping of the eyelid or ‘brow ptosis’ may occur, but again is temporary and often can be treated with a small tweak of the treatment.
Men sometimes need to have a larger quantity of product, we often don’t know this until 14 days post treatment when you will be seen for a further top-up treatment.

The principle of treating men is is exactly the same as treating women. The injections are expertly placed at specific points in the muscles in order to prevent their contractions and the skin from wrinkling. The only difference is that the dose for men is often higher than used for women. Therefore there is a small increase in the cost of male treatment when comparing with female treatment.
Men should consider a treatment when they feel the time is right. If self esteem is decreasing, if the signs of ageing are becoming bothersome. If a man wishes to look fresher for an event or a new path in life, such as a new job or dating again. In short, men should feel they have the same access to treatments which help them to feel good about themselves as women.
Botulinum Toxin has an excellent safety record and a long record of use in medicine. It has been used successfully for medical treatments since 1989. It has been used cosmetically to treat facial wrinkles since 2002 and has consistently been one of the most popular and frequently used cosmetic treatments since then.
It can take about 2 to 3 days to start noticing changes with the full effect evident at 14 days.
The effects can last for up to six months but most people experience three to four months of benefit from the treatment. As the product some people report a softening of previously deep lines after treatment which never really go back to their previous severity. This effect is never guaranteed but it is nice when it happens.
When the effect of the Botox injection wears off the wrinkles will always return to their pre-treatment state. Treatments can be repeated to a minimum of three monthly intervals, but the effects may last longer for some individuals, especially if they have had previous treatments to the same area.
This treatment should not change your face or your ability to perform normal facial expressions or functions. When performed correctly by an expert in aesthetic treatments, you will never look changed or strange, you should still look like you!
