Nasolabial Folds
Nasolabial folds are the indentation lines on either side of the mouth that extend from the edge of the nose to the mouth’s outer corners. They become more prominent when people smile.
These folds also tend to deepen with age. Some people develop wrinkles next to the nasolabial folds, which may be more visible during smiling. These are sometimes called smile lines or laugh lines.
Nasolabial folds are commonly the first thing a client will seek to improve when considering a dermal filler.
As we age our fat pads in our cheek region begin to diminish and gravity pulls them downwards. In turn this causes the fat pad in the nasolabial region to be pushed downwards too, causing the deep folds which appear from the nose to the mouth.
Nasolabial folds can be quickly and easily treated with a hyaluronic acid dermal filler.
The treatment takes around 15 minutes, numbing cream is applied to ensure the treatment is comfortable and relatively painless.

Results are visible right away. However, dermal fillers often look at their best around 2-3 weeks after treatment when the filler has settled.
No, typically dermal fillers will be a treatment with little or no down time. There may be some redness and swelling after treatment and in some cases there may be bruising, however this should be easily covered with make up. Lip augmentation often has slightly more swelling associated with the treatment but this is most often only noticeable to you.
